TLMDSpeedButton and VirtualImageList

I have a TLMDSpeedButton on a panel with the ImagesList property set to a VirtualImageList.  The selected image appears fine in the IDE, but when I run the app, the image does not show up.  What could I be missing?

LMD Tools 2019.4
Delphi Rio 10.3.1

    This is definitely a bug in TVirtualList. It does not respect contract defined by TChangeLink class.

    I used TVirtualList for various other controls, yours is the first (so far) where it is not working.  I hope you can get Embarcadero to fix the issue.

    FWIW, Other controls I've used with TVirtualImage list includes:
    Standard: TTreeView, TToolBar, TMainMenu, TPopupMenu, TActionManager
    TMS Software: TAdvGlowButton, THTMLTreeView

    I can use a different control for my needs, so I'm good for now.

    BTW, another standard control I've used VirtualImageList with is TButtonedEdit.

    Thanks, but there is no need to mention other controls - they draw images directly from the imagelist and don't rely on TChangeLink. TVirtualImageList does not report all its changes like standard imagelist or especially all of our imagelists. 
    As Eugene said we already checking alternatives.
