I get a mis-sized button with the above-mentioned code.

I am using NGTools.

please set your image resolution to 200%, and run it.

with     task.PlatformMode := TNGTaskDlgPlatformMode.tdmAuto <-- OK

with    task.PlatformMode := TNGTaskDlgPlatformMode.tdmNever; <-- not OK.

Ok. I'll check it with non standard DPI.

Which LMD and Delphi versions you use? I can't reproduce the issue even with high DPI.
