LmdDBGrid and PickList

Dear all, is it possible to create PickList for integer field of LmdDBGrid, but with descriptions instead of integer values? For example,

Bob

John

Jack

After picking on John, value 1 would be written into database.

Should be possible. This is demonstrated in grid pack gemo (non-db tab) where for floating point colunm we use drop-down list with "Pi" item in it.
