Installing RAD 12.2 and LMD VCL Complete 2024

Problem 1

- I installed RAD Studio 12.2 and then the LMD VCL Complete 2024 with the new Universal installer

=> RAD Studio shows the LMD components, all seems fine

- When opening an existing and working project (with RAD 11.3 and LMD VCL 2024) the IDE 12.2 is missing the TLMDPanel component

WHY? I installed as recommended the Tools and why is this simple component missing?

Problem  2

- I removed LMD VCL Complete 2024 completely

- I install them again with the old installer

- The LMD is installed to c:\program files (x86)\lmd2024 and c:\users\public\documents\embarcadero\studio\23.0\bpl

=> The IDE 12.2 does not show any of the LMD components

WHY?

Any help to this issues I appreciate.

TLMDPanel is deprecated since LMD-Tools 7, almost 20 years ago. If you still use it, please make sure, that the dcllmdlegacy package as shown in the attached screenshot is installed and available to your project.

E.g. in old installers you have to explicitly enable installation of legacy components on the corresponding installer page - they are not installed by default. Please consider to replace this control by TLMDSimplePanel or TLMDPanelfill, because legacy controls don't support runtime packages or don't have 64bit support.

There are several possible reasons as described at https://wiki.lmd.de/index.php/LMD_VCL_-_General_FAQ#After_installation_.28without_errors.29_components_do_not_appear_on_component_palette

Use the Install packages dialog to find out whether correct packages installed, packages were not disabled by accident etc.
