SyntaxEdit, highlighting links, and opening them in a browser

What's the easiest way to highlight http and https links in a document in SyntaxEdit and open a browser with the link when the user clicks on it?

It would be nice if this functionality was built-in but it doesn't look like it is.

Thanks.

  • Hi,

    Unfortunately, there no such functionality.
  • I figured that might be the case. :(

Also, I assume that no further development is planned for SyntaxEdit? I think this was the case earlier but was hoping it might have changed.

I really do not want to have to go through the "hassle" of changing editor components in my software but there are some features of modern editors that I'd REALLY like to have that SyntaxEdit doesn't have.
