Looking for a modern toolbar component...what should I use?

edited September 2013 in LMD-Tools Vote Up0Vote Down

We're limited to using Delphi 2006.   Currently we're using DeveloperExpress for toolbars.  Currently we're using an older version of LMD (2004).  We're looking for a snazzy modern toolbar component that would let us have variable rows of controls like in the picture below:  (and hopefully maybe allow for a "mark" at the end of each section to bring up a popup window or menu showing some additional buttons)

What do you recommend for toolbars that would be compatible with Delphi 2006?   Currently we're using an older version of LMD (2004).

Also, does anybody know if a newer version of LMD (or the version I'm using which is 2004) has LMDSpeedButtons that could have the arrows at the bottom rather than just to the side (even when the button is configured so that the arrow and image portions of the button function independently)?

Thanks.

  • ElPack and LMD-Tools provide TLMDToolBar/TElToolBar for fast and simple creation of  toolbars. Some of your requirements are possible, others are not (e.g. you can freely align image to dropdown/caption of speedbutton. But currently it is not possible to place dropdown arrow solely at the bottom).
However in your screenshot it looks like more you need something similar/enhanced to a ribbon control, which is currently not included in any of our controls.
  • We've found that a ribbon control is very limiting as to the look and feel, and control placement.   Do you happen to know if there is a such thing as a ribbon that isn't so limiting, and, if so, do you know where to find one?
