Yes, those issues are under fix.

[1] - fixed (checkout for next release, 2011.9).
[2] - cannot reproduce after [1] was fixed -
More clues on 2. The width problem arises if you set "SelectedItemFont" style to Normal and the main menu font to Bold.
If the "SelectedItemFont" is also set to Bold there is not a problem.
